Convention Dates/Times:

• Dealer set up and Early Bird entry:
  Friday, October 23rd, 3:00 - 6:00 PM.

• Public show hours:
  Saturday, October 24th, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
  Sunday, October 25th, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

Other convention information:

• There were over 100 local, regional and national coin dealer tables.

• Located adjacent to Lloyd Center Mall and just a few blocks from the Oregon Convention Center.

• Admission was $2.00 per day (free for those taking MAX to the venue). Children under 12 were free.

• There was an expanded collector exhibit area on one side of the room near the entrance. There were no competitive exhibit awards at the 2009 fall convention.

• Walt Ostromecki was scheduled to conduct the popular Young Numismatist (YN) treasure hunt.

• There were hourly door prizes as usual!

2009 Fall Convention Report from The Nor'wester:

Your editor travelled to Portland, OR to attend the annual fall convention co-sponsored by the Pacific Northwest Numismatic Association (PNNA) and the Willamette Coin Club (WCC), October 24-25, 2009. Although we regret that ANA Governor Walt Ostromecki became ill with the flu and was unable to run the popular YN program at the show this year, the show did go on, with the Reinders family filling in, not only to run the YN treasure hunt, but also placing eight cases of non-competitive exhibits. Father James Reinders and daughter Katie had attended “The Art of Money” course at ANA Summer Seminar, and displayed their plaster “coin” models! (Click on image to enlarge.)
