PNNA Spring Convention Report - 2009

The biggest annual coin show in the Pacific Northwest, sponsored by the Pacific Northwest Numismatic Association (PNNA), was once again a success, although attendance was down a bit from 2008 for various reasons, including a weak economy, nice weather convention weekend, and the national ANA show in March.

In addition to bourse activity, there were exhibits, awards, numismatic theater programs on Saturday, and a popular Young Numismatists (YN) program.

  • Three of the numismatic theater presenters are pictured below.

  • Juniors on the bourse floor were excited to have the opportunity to complete a set of numismatic items as part of the Young Numismatist (YN) "Treasure Hunt" game. Participation was excellent as always!

  • There were four competitive collector exhibits this year, all of which were quite interesting!

  • Attendees once again received custom designed and struck pewter "tokens" while supplies lasted!

Thanks to Dick Billings for his service as convention general chairman from 2001 to 2009. Mike Labosier will take over as general chairman for the 2010 convention.

The PNNA was pleased to announce that the association's annual convention would again be held at the Tukwila Community Center the weekend of April 16-18, 2010.
