Another great year! 2013 was another great year for the PNNA, with the usual conventions in Tukwila and Portland, plus other activities, and the start of planning for the March 2015 ANA show in Portland.
Events
The PNNA-Willamette Coin Club 9th Annual Fall Convention & Coin Show was held October 5-6, 2013, in Portland, OR, with dealer and exhibitor setup on Friday, October 4. It included the ANA Road Show exhibit. There was also an educational symposium on Thursday, October 3 with several excellent speakers.
Washington State (Puyallup) Fair! The PNNA had a booth in the Hobby Hall during the full duration of the Fair, September 6-22, 2013.
ANA Convention! – The annual World’s Fair of Money® was held August 13-17, 2013, in Chicago (Rosemont), IL. See a report.
National Coin Week! ANA National Coin Week (90th Annual), April 21-27, 2013. Theme: Buffalo Nickel Centennial: Black Diamond Shines Again. We hope you were able to participate!
The 64th Annual PNNA Convention was held April 12-14, 2013, in Tukwila, WA. As always, the PNNA show featured a large active bourse, exhibits, numismatic theater and club meetings, and a popular young numismatist (YN) program! ANACS (grading service) was also at the show.
Newsletters / Other News
Newsletter Update! The 1st Quarter 2014 edition of The Nor’wester (mailed in late December) should have been received (for those who subscribe in paper form) and contains the 2014 PNNA scholarship application. The 4th Quarter 2013 edition of The Nor’wester was mailed on Sept. 27, and contained important information about the Portland show. The 3rd Quarter 2013 edition of The Nor’wester was mailed the week of June 24, and included a member survey. The 2nd Quarter 2013 16-page convention edition of The Nor’wester was mailed the first week of April. All of these editions are available online! (See online editions page.)
New PNNA Dues! Effective Aug. 1, 2013, PNNA dues increased by $5 annually for all classes except club and life, if receiving The Nor’wester in paper form. There is no increase to receive The Nor’wester online. See the link above to access past newsletters online and try out this convenient option.
The ANA National Money Show is coming to Portland, March 5-7, 2015, at the Oregon Convention Center!
PNNA scholarship applications for the ANA Summer Seminar were due March 1. The winners were announced at the April show.
Happy New Year from the PNNA! The 1st Quarter 2013 edition of The Nor’wester was mailed just before Christmas. It’s a 12-page edition, and it’s also available on this website. (See online editions page.)
